Overnight, the Women’s team faced a tough 3-0 defeat at the hands of Singapore. While the final score doesn’t do justice to just how close the match was the team put up a spirited fight in every match.

Yangzi Liu showed her class at international level, pushing former World and Commonwealth Games champion Feng Tian Wei right to the end of their match.

National Head Coach (Able-bodied) John Murphy was pleased with the teams performance as they regroup for tonight’s performance against Wales.

“The women gave everything and left it all out on the table,” he said.

“We felt like we could put them under pressure, which we did, but we didn’t get the right breaks at the right time.

“We’ll quickly regroup and be really ready for the Bronze medal match.”

The Australian Women’s team will meet Wales in their Bronze medal match at 6:30pm AEST.
