– Weightmans Packaging 8 (Curtis Crabtree, Gary Leach, Raj Gujral 2) d Tankard Dental 3 (Ildi Healy 3)

Conner Burnett did his very best for team Tankard, grabbing the first set, but Weightman’s Gary Leach, put in a good effort to take the next three (10/12, 11/8, 11/7, 12/10). Raj Gujral had a red hot try against Tankard’s Ildi Healy, but the Rubber didn’t fall his way (11/9, 11/6, 12/10). John Fitzpatrick did his utmost to fill in for Tankard’s Nathan Beard, but it was a battle, when he was asked to play Left Handed and didn’t leave him much chance against Curtis Crabtree (11/5, 11/7, 11/3).

The first Doubles was a tight contest, going to five sets and ending up in favor of Weightmans, with Ildi and John facing Curtis and Gary (11/5, 10/12, 11/9, 10/12, 11/7).

Ildi and Gary’s battle went to four sets with some great rallies. Ildi collected the second Rubber for Tankard (11/9, 11/7, 11/13, 11/6). Even though Curtis took the win against Connor, each set was saw a good fight from Connor (12/10, 11/9, 11/7). Raj had an overwhelming win when he came up against the Lefty, John (11/1, 11/1, 11/8).

The second Doubles match also went to Weightmans, after a fantastic encounter, with Ildi and Conner opposing Curtis and Raj (11/9, 9/11, 11/7, 5/11, 11/8). This Rubber gave Weightman’s the over win for the night.

Ildi put in a super night, coming away with her third win, when she fronted Curtis, for a mighty five set clash (8/11,11/6, 12/10, 7/11, 12/10). Gary was under the pump in the first set against John, but he focused to bring his win home in three sets (12/10, 11/0, 11/8). Connor and Roj have both improved enormously, but Raj still has the wood on Conner, at the moment (11/5, 11/3, 13/11).

WINNER : Weightman’s Packaging 8 to Tankard Dentals 3.

GAMES 27 to 14.

– Dunkley Scales 7 (Tom Gilmour, Deegan Kerslake 3) d Mallee Meats 2 (Maria Starikov, Jenny Leach 1) – (2v2)

First up in this encounter was Dunkley’s Deegan Kerslake and Mallee’s Jen Leach, which although it finished in four sets, was a well fought match by both, with the Rubber going to Dunkley (9/11, 12/10, 11/9, 11/9).

It was another four setter in the Doubles, with Tom Gilmour and Deegan out gunning Maria Starikov and Jen to bring home anotherr win for Dunkley (9/11, 11/9, 11/5, 11/7).

The four sets played between Tom and Jen were full on, with the last being won by Tom after a see-sawing battle (11/7, 10/12, 11/8, 17/15).

Maria and Deegan had a ripper game, with countless rallies, through all five sets. The final outcome saw Deegan forge ahead to put Dunkley in a position where they couldn’t lose the night (11/7, 9/11, 7/11, 11/6, 11/8).

Tom and Maria were the last to step up to the Table, with a short nights play, due to only two players from each team showing up. The usual five set match between these two didn’t eventuate, with Maria only being able to sneak one set from Tom, handing yet another Rubber to Dunkley.

The Powerhouse pair of Tom and Deegan are hard to beat and were far too strong for Maria and Jen, snatching a well earned victory.
